The Gym
General
What makes Vickery Athletics different from other gyms in Dallas?
Vickery Athletics coaches structured 6–10 week program cycles, not random workouts. In Dallas, TX we focus on strength, hypertrophy, and aerobic conditioning with scaled movements for every level. Since 2014 we've built a gym around sustainable progress — no trends, no fluff.
Is Vickery a CrossFit gym?
Vickery is a CrossFit alternative. We are not a CrossFit affiliate, and we do not run a different random workout every day. You get what people value in that world, the barbells, the conditioning, the small coached classes, and the community, but built on structured 6 to 10 week cycles. Every class in our East Dallas gym is coached and scaled, so a first-timer and a ten-year lifter train side by side. Your first two classes are free.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. First-time visitors get two complimentary classes at Vickery Athletics in East Dallas. The offer includes a facility tour and a chance to meet your coach. Book at (469) 734-3343 or on our contact page.
Where is Vickery Athletics located?
Vickery Athletics is at 4411 Belmont Ave, Dallas, TX 75204, in East Dallas right off Henderson Ave. Easy access from Uptown, Knox-Henderson, Lakewood, and the M Streets. Free parking on site. Text (469) 734-3343 for directions.
What is the class schedule?
Group classes run Monday–Friday at 5:30am, 6:30am, 12:00pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm, and 6:30pm (no 6:30pm on Friday). Saturday holds 8:00am Strength and 9:00am Partner/Community Conditioning. Sunday: Open Gym for members only. Drop-ins are welcome at every class.

Group Classes
Do I need to be in shape to start a group class?
No. Group classes at Vickery Athletics are scaled for every fitness level. Coaches modify every movement, load, and duration so you can train hard at your level on day one. New members start in coached classes to build a foundation before unlocking open gym.
How long is a class?
Every Vickery group class is 60 minutes. That includes the warm-up, skill or strength work, the conditioning piece, and a cool-down. We start and end on time so the schedule fits around work, kids, and life in Dallas.
How many people are in a class?
Classes are coached in a small group format. We keep the coach-to-member ratio low so every person gets real eyes on their movement. You'll get named cues, scaling options, and form feedback every class — not a whistle from across the room.
What should I bring to my first class?
Athletic clothes, training shoes (flat soles are great for lifting), a water bottle, and a willingness to ask questions. We'll cover the rest on-site. Your coach will walk you through the movements before the workout so nothing feels like a guess.
Do you have showers?
Yes — Vickery Athletics has on-site showers and changing facilities so you can train before work and head straight to the office in Dallas or Uptown.
Are drop-ins welcome?
Yes. Drop-ins are welcome at every Vickery class on the schedule — weekday, Saturday Strength, and Partner/Community Conditioning. A single drop-in is $25, or claim two free classes if you're new.
How does a 6–10 week program cycle work?
A cycle is a planned progression. The coaches set a training target — like building back squat, conditioning capacity, or an aerobic base — then program every class so daily work adds up across the cycle. Intensity, volume, and movement patterns are undulated so you progress without overwork.
Do you run beginner-only classes?
Every Vickery class is scaled for every level, so there is no separate beginner track. New members are supported with extra coaching attention in their first weeks. Your coach will meet you where you are and progress you deliberately.

Personal Training
Who is personal training a good fit for?
Personal training at Vickery Athletics fits members with a focused goal, an injury they're returning from, or a schedule that doesn't match the class times. Coaches write custom programs and meet you 1-on-1 at the Dallas gym. Roster is intentionally small.
How much does personal training cost?
PT rates depend on the coach, package size, and session frequency. Contact Vickery Athletics at (469) 734-3343 or submit the contact form and a coach will follow up with pricing options that match your goals and schedule.
Do I need a membership to do personal training?
No. Personal training can be done on its own or layered on top of a group class membership. Many members pair weekly group classes with a PT session or two a month for focused work on a lift, a weakness, or return-to-train from injury.
Can personal training help me return from an injury?
Yes. Return-to-train is a regular use case at Vickery Athletics. Your coach works with your timeline, any referrals from PT or a physician, and progresses you through pain-free movement patterns until you're ready to rejoin classes at full intensity.
How are PT sessions programmed?
Every PT session at Vickery is programmed around your goals, starting point, and prior sessions. No templates. Your coach tracks the work and adjusts the program based on how you're progressing, not on a generic week-by-week calendar.
How long is a PT session?
Typical personal training sessions run 45–60 minutes. Length is set with your coach based on what the session needs to cover — warm-up, main lift, accessory work, and conditioning or mobility as needed.
Do you train athletes in sport-specific programs?
Vickery Athletics is a general-population gym, not a sport-specific training facility. PT is for strength, hypertrophy, conditioning, and return-to-train goals. If you need position-specific or sport-combine work, we'll tell you directly that we're not the right fit.
How do I get started with personal training?
Submit the contact form or text (469) 734-3343. Tell us your goal and your rough availability — a coach follows up to scope the work, talk timing, and schedule a first session at the Dallas gym.
Programs
Open Gym
Who can use open gym?
Open gym at Vickery Athletics is available to established members on Unlimited or 12x/month plans after 1 month of membership. The wait gives new members time to build a coached foundation before training solo on the floor in Dallas.
Why is there a waiting period for open gym?
The 1–2 month wait is a feature, not a limitation. It gets you reps in coached classes first, so when you train solo during open gym you already know the movements, your scaling, and how to run a session safely and productively.
When is open gym available?
Open gym happens during off-class hours. Exact windows shift with the class schedule — ask your coach or check the Vickery Athletics member app for the current open gym blocks.
What equipment is available?
The full Vickery floor: barbells, bumper plates, squat rigs, benches, dumbbells, kettlebells, machines, assault bikes, rowers, and plyo gear. Everything you need to run a full session on your own.
Is there coaching during open gym?
Coaches are often on the floor during open gym running their own work or prepping for the next class, so you can ask for a cue or a set check. It isn't a coached class — it's your time to train your own program.
Can I bring a friend to open gym?
Non-members need to come through as a drop-in or a free trial class, not as an open gym guest. Have them book a drop-in or claim 2 free classes at (469) 734-3343.
Can I use open gym to follow my own program?
Yes. Open gym is the right place to follow a PT program, an outside program you're running, or your own strength work between class days.
Is open gym included in my membership?
Yes. Open gym access is included in the Unlimited and 12x/month memberships once you're past the 1–2 month foundation window. Drop-ins and 10-class packs do not include open gym.
Programs
Nutrition Coaching
How does nutrition coaching work at Vickery?
Nutrition coaching at Vickery Athletics is habit-based. You and your coach pick a small set of changes that fit your life in Dallas, track them, and adjust every few weeks. The goal is sustainable change, not a 12-week reset you'll abandon in month four.
Do I need to be a member to do nutrition coaching?
Membership is not required for nutrition coaching, but most members pair it with group classes or PT because training and nutrition are the same equation. Ask about combining them when you reach out.
Will you write me a meal plan?
Meal plans are not the default at Vickery because they rarely stick. Coaching focuses on principles, portions, protein, and the habits that move body composition and performance. If a short-term structured plan makes sense for your situation, your coach will say so.
Do I need to count macros?
Macro counting is one tool, not a requirement. For some members it's useful for a defined window; for most, habit-based coaching without a tracking app works better long-term. Your coach will match the approach to your goal and your willingness to track.
What's the InBody scan?
Every new recurring member at Vickery Athletics gets a complimentary InBody scan to baseline body composition — lean mass, fat mass, and segmental breakdown. We use it to set a starting point and check in on progress over time.
How do I get started with nutrition coaching?
Submit the contact form or text (469) 734-3343 and ask about nutrition. A coach will follow up to scope what you want to work on and line up a first conversation.
Memberships
Pricing + Membership
What membership should I pick?
Most Vickery members train 3+ days a week and pick Unlimited at $230/month. If you're training 2–3 days a week, 12x/month at $200 fits better. If you prefer no recurring commitment, the 10-class pack at $200 (valid 6 months) works. Unsure? Use the 2 free trial classes first.
Is there a contract or long commitment?
No long-term contract. Monthly memberships bill each cycle until you cancel. The Quarterly Unlimited at $615/qtr bills every three months. Punchcards and drop-ins have no recurring billing at all.
How does billing work?
Monthly plans are billed each cycle on the same day of the month. The first billing period is prorated to the cycle start date. Quarterly Unlimited bills every 90 days. Cancellations stop future billing — no refunds on past charges.
Do unused class credits roll over?
12x/month credits do not roll over. Each month resets to 12. The 10-class punchcard is valid for 6 months from purchase, so those credits carry across months.
Can I freeze or pause my membership?
Membership pauses are handled case by case — travel, injury, a work move. Email biz@vickeryathletics.com or ask at the front desk and we'll walk through options with you.
Do you charge a drop-in fee?
Yes. Drop-in is $25 per class, good for any class on the schedule including Saturday Strength and Partner/Community Conditioning. First-time visitors can skip the fee with 2 free trial classes instead.
